In 2015 Ass. Prof. Dr. Piotr Nykiel prepared an exhibition, “Gallipoli – 100 Years After the Battle”.

It consists of thirty 70x100 cm dimension boards. Photographs taken by Dr. Nykiel during his numerous study visits to the Dardanelles area in 1994-2011 period are accompanied by some archive pictures and texts in Polish and Turkish, which give general information on the background of the campaign as well as on its naval, land and aerial stages.

One board is dedicated to the Polish soldiers in the Gallipoli Campaign and another one to the First Polish Diving Expedition to the Dardanelles that took place in 2011. The exhibition has been displayed in the following places:

The Museum of the Jagiellonian University in Kraków (19 February – 7 April)

The Central Archives of Historical Records in Warsaw (15-24 April)

Poznań – Ławica Airport (13-14 April, during the ‘Aerofestival 2015’)

The History Museum of the City of Gdańsk (26 June – 19 July)

The Museum of Polish Arms in Kołobrzeg (30 July – 8 September)

The Youth Culture center in Toruń (24 September – 7 October)

The technical organization of the exhibition in the above mentioned places has been provided by the Yunus Emre Institute – the Turkish Cultural center in Warsaw.

Each official opening was accompanied by a lecture on the Gallipoli Campaign delivered by Dr. Nykiel.

An exhibition catalog (80 pages) in Polish, Turkish and English (also prepared by Dr. Nykiel) was published by the Yunus Emre Institute and is still available in its Warsaw office.
