Osmanlı Donanma Cemiyeti – The Association for the Ottoman Navy

During the First World War “Donanma” became a weekly. Its size changed to 253 x 378 mm, and its length was reduced to 16 pages. Instead a “colored”, 14-page long publicity supplement was added. With the passing of time an illustration aimed at lifting the morale of Turks living on the Aegean Islands lost by the Ottomans in 1912-13 started to be permanently printed on the cover.
